Gordon Brown Holds Talks With Pakistans President Asif Ali Zardari

If this is true it’s absolutely shameful:

The British government decided it was “in the overwhelming interests of the United Kingdom” to make Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed al-Megrahi, the Lockerbie bomber, eligible for return to Libya, leaked ministerial letters reveal.

Gordon Brown’s government made the decision after discussions between Libya and BP over a multi-million-pound oil exploration deal had hit difficulties. These were resolved soon afterwards.

There was some discussion when the Scottish Minister of “Justice” released this monster that Britain would lose a lot by a backlash by the people of the US.  I thought that was pretty silly.  After all we’ve been allies for a long time.  Our soldiers have died fighting for eachother.  Why would a stupid decision made by some goofball Scot cause serious damage to that relationship.

But if this was a crass commercial decision made by the British government then it’s a very serious thing.&nbsp The authorities in Scotland said that Megrahi was terminal and would likely die in three months.&nbsp If he makes it past Christmas the British government deserves a ton of scorn.
